Another wonderful promotion of Croatian music abroad!

6.03.2025.

The ambassador of Croatian music, Maestro Ivan Repušić, chief conductor of the Staatskapelle Weimar, will once again reaffirm his status as a passionate advocate of Croatian compositions on international stages. (Dario Poljak, glazba.hr)

At the Deutsches Nationaltheater, Staatskapelle Weimar and Ivan Repušić will immortalize the Overture for Large Orchestra in D minor, Op. 49, as well as Songs for Voice and Orchestra (Verwandlung Op. 37b, Liebeslied Op. 39, Zwei Schmetterlingslieder Op. 52) alongside mezzo-soprano Annika Schlicht, in a studio recording taking place on March 6 and 7, 2025. With this studio recording of Dora’s Overture, Ivan Repušić continues to champion Croatian music on the international stage, ensuring that Dora Pejačević’s works receive the recognition they deserve in the world’s musical heritage.

Let us recall that in September 2024, Ivan Repušić conducted the hr-Sinfonieorchester in a performance of Dora Pejačević’s Overture for Large Orchestra in D minor, Op. 49 at the hr-Sendesaal in Frankfurt. Then, in November, at the Deutsches Nationaltheater, he led the Staatskapelle Weimar in a studio recording of Dora’s Symphony in F-sharp minor, Op. 41, Concert Fantasy for Piano and Orchestra, Op. 48, and Songs for Voice and Orchestra (Verwandlung Op. 37b, Liebeslied Op. 39, Zwei Schmetterlingslieder Op. 52) once again featuring mezzo-soprano Annika Schlicht.

The sheet music was provided by the Croatian Music Information Centre of the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall.
