Phantasie concertante by Dora Pejačević and Martina Filjak in Osijek and Pécs

Phantasie concertante for Piano and Orchestra, Op. 48, a masterpiece by the renowned Croatian composer Dora Pejačević, will be performed at two prestigious concerts in Osijek and Pécs. The Pannon Philharmonic, under the baton of maestro Tibor Bogányi, together with the exceptional and internationally acclaimed pianist Martina Filjak, will bring this extraordinary work to life. The performance has been made possible through sheet music materials provided by the Croatian Music Information Centre, staying true to its mission of promoting and sharing the invaluable treasures of Croatian musical heritage with the world.

The first performance will take place on Thursday, December 12, 2024, in the Franjo Krežma Hall in Osijek, followed by a second performance on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the Kodály Center in Pécs. Both concerts feature a program that includes works by Walton, Ravel, and Kodály, but Dora Pejačević’s Phantasie Concertante takes center stage, celebrated for its artistic and historical significance.

Martina Filjak, renowned for her passionate interpretations and impeccable technique, will bring a new dimension to this masterpiece, blending the power of the composer’s vision with her own artistic sensibility. Her performance highlights the importance of this work as a beacon of Croatian musical history.

Through this project, the Croatian Music Information Centre continues its mission to revive and celebrate forgotten treasures, providing Dora Pejačević’s compositions with the recognition they deserve on international stages.
