About the music edition:
Srećko Bradić (1963.) completed his studies at the Department for Music Teachers at the Zagreb Academy of Music, but his music vocation was determined by study at the Department for Composition at the same Academy where he earned his degree in the class of Prof. Stanko Horvat. „Bradić composed the Six Bagatelles cycle for piano while still a student. It soon became a repertoire piece, and brought Bradić a private scholarship unitl he completed study of compositin. The composition is a series of six small studies differing in music character, such as the piano virtuosity of the opening bagatelle, Grave – Prestissimo, the scherzo quality Quasi burleso bagatelle, or the simple catching nature of the Largo bagatelle. The form of each piece is develped by elaboration of the motif material within brief two-part and three-part formal patterns and expanded tonality of the well laid out tonal points of reference. The unity of the cycle is achieved two ways: externally – by the musical dramaturgy of the order of the movements in the manner of a suite; and internally, through the motif material with similar interval characteristics in which thirds, fourths, augmented fourths and fifths dominate.“ (Borko Špoljarić)
