Symphony in F-sharp Minor, Op. 41 – First Stop: Košice
In the country with the highest number of castles and fortresses per capita – Slovakia – an exciting musical journey of the Symphony in F-sharp Minor, Op. 41 by composer Dora Pejačević begins. The first performance in this “ten-day” tour will take place on November 14, in Košice, where the Slovak State Philharmonic under the direction of the young and talented Czech conductor Jiří Rožeň will perform this remarkable work in the House of Arts.
German Tour: Frankfurt, Potsdam, and Weimar
The Symphony’s journey continues in Germany! The Brandenburg State Orchestra will perform Dora’s Symphony on November 15, 2024, at the Konzerthalle Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach in Frankfurt and on November 16 at the Nikolaisaal in Potsdam. This orchestra, founded in 1842, will be conducted by the esteemed Felix Mildenberger.
A particularly emotional performance follows on November 17 and 18 at the Weimarhalle in Weimar, under the baton of one of Croatia’s most prominent conductors and advocates of Croatian music, Ivan Repušić. After these performances, the Symphony will be recorded in the studio along with Dora’s Songs for Voice and Orchestra (Verwandlung Op. 37b, Liebeslied Op. 39, Zwei Schmetterlingslieder Op. 52), featuring the renowned German mezzo-soprano Annika Schlicht, who also performed these songs in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the composer’s death.
Final Performance in the USA
The musical journey of Dora Pejačević’s Symphony concludes on November 22, 2024, in the United States. The second movement of the Symphony will be performed by the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music Orchestra at California State University under the direction of Johannes Müller Stosch at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center.

All these performances are made in collaboration with the Croatian Music Information Centre of the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, which has been dedicatedly working to promote the creative legacy of Dora Pejačević since 1999. Thanks to this project, Dora Pejačević’s music continues to capture the hearts of listeners worldwide.
